Preparing for your Psychedelic Journey

Colorado has taken a groundbreaking step towards embracing the healing potential of psilocybin, as it became one of the first states to legalize its therapeutic use. This significant milestone marks a transformative shift in the landscape of mental health and well-being.

In this new era of exploration, cutting-edge clinical trials are currently underway, shedding light on the remarkable benefits of psilocybin-assisted therapy. These trials, conducted by pioneering researchers and psychologists, aim to understand the profound impact of psilocybin on various mental health conditions.

Psilocybin, found naturally in certain species of mushrooms, is being investigated for its potential to alleviate symptoms of treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other mental health disorders. The preliminary findings of these trials are nothing short of remarkable, with participants reporting profound breakthroughs, expanded consciousness, and long-lasting positive transformations.

  • Intention Setting & Prep

During your prep call for your upcoming psychedelic journey, you can expect a comprehensive and informative conversation that aims to ensure your safety, understanding, and readiness for the upcoming experience.

Prior to the call, you will be asked to complete an intake form to assess your medical history and mental health. This step is crucial to ensure that the psychedelic journey is safe and appropriate for you. There will be questions about any pre-existing medical conditions, medications you're currently taking, and your mental well-being. Honesty is essential during this process to ensure your safety.

You will be provided with information about the specific psychedelic substance being used, its effects, and potential risks. This education helps you develop a deeper understanding and demystifies any misconceptions you may have.

Cat will help you form realistic expectations about the journey. She will explain the range of experiences you might encounter, including both positive and challenging aspects. Understanding that the journey can be unpredictable and subjective is crucial for navigating the experience with an open mind and a sense of curiosity.

Our best advice for intention setting is OPENNESS.

  • Experience

Depending on if you are planning to attend a microdose event/retreat or a hero’s dose 1:1 session your experience may look a little different. The information below is designed to give you an idea of what to expect.

Taking a microdose during a sound healing journey can create a unique and heightened sensory experience, enhancing the already profound effects of both practices.

The soothing sounds of various instruments, such as singing bowls, chimes, and tuning forks, create a symphony of harmonies that resonate through your body. The melodic waves of sound intertwine with the microdose, subtly amplifying your perception and deepening your connection to the present moment.

With each breath, you may feel an increased sensitivity to the sounds, as if the vibrations are traveling through you with greater clarity and depth. A microdose can heighten your ability to attune to the nuances of the auditory experience, allowing you to truly immerse yourself in the symphony of tones and frequencies.

As the sound bath progresses, you may notice a heightened emotional awareness. The combination of the microdose and the harmonious sounds can evoke a profound sense of peace, joy, and connectedness.

With your senses heightened, you may find it easier to enter a meditative state, where the external world fades away, and you become fully present in the here and now.

Throughout the experience, you may notice subtle shifts in perception, such as enhanced colors or visual patterns, which may complement the auditory sensations. The combination of the microdose and the sound bath may open doors to new realms of creativity and introspection.

It's important to remember that the effects of microdosing can vary from person to person, and each sound healing journey experience is unique. It's always advisable to approach microdosing with caution, ensuring a safe and supportive environment, and seeking guidance from experienced professionals if needed.

In a Hero’s Journey, we will begin with a tea ceremony and intention setting. An altar will be set up in the space to help you align with your spirit guides. You are encouraged to bring an item to add to the altar. After drinking the tea, you will be guided through some breathwork or Kriya techniques to help cultivate your mindset for the journey. As you start to feel the effects from the mushrooms, you will transition to a supine position and be given an eye mask and noise cancelling headphones with a curated playlist to help guide you through your journey. Your journey length will depend on several factors including your dosage, body composition and metabolism. Cat will be present for the duration of the journey ensuring you are safe and supported.

Many people experience visualizations and bodily sensations during the journey, however, each journey is unique. Challenges may arise. If they do, we recommend releasing resistance and moving towards the challenge to help move through it. What you resist tends to persist.

  • Integration

During the integration phase, you can expect a guided process that allows you to reflect, assimilate, and integrate the experiences and insights gained during the session.

Cat will guide you through a reflective exercise to encourage introspection and deepen your connection with the experience. You may be prompted to explore your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations that arose during the session. This reflection helps you gain insight into the personal significance of the experience and its potential impact on your well-being.

You will be introduced to integration practices designed to help you assimilate your experience into your daily life. These practices may include techniques such as breathwork, mindfulness exercises, journaling, or gentle movement. Integration practices provide a bridge between the heightened states of consciousness experienced during the sound bath and your everyday reality, allowing you to bring the benefits and insights gained into your daily life.

The integration phase is a valuable component of the journey, providing a framework to process and apply the insights and transformation that occurred during the session. By engaging in intentional reflection, integration practices, and self-care, you can embody and embody the profound effects of the sound bath, fostering lasting positive changes in your life.
